Here at Uppsala Närakut, a team of nurses, counselors, and doctors work together – each with different areas of expertise – to meet your needs.

Sometimes you may have to wait, and this can be due to several reasons, such as:

• You are waiting to see a nurse. At Uppsala Närakut, a nurse always performs an initial assessment of your condition.

• You are waiting for a test, which can help complement the nurse’s assessment.

• You are waiting to see a doctor. This means the nurse has determined that your condition requires further evaluation or treatment.

• We have contacted another healthcare provider and are waiting for their response to plan your continued care.

• You are waiting for transport, as we have assessed that you need to be transferred to another healthcare facility. Sometimes this wait can be long, but transport is on its way.

• Many people are seeking help at the same time. If you or someone else suddenly becomes seriously ill, we need to prioritize and help the most urgent cases first. We do everything we can to assist everyone as quickly as possible.
